I am a corporate IT insider writing to provide strategic guidance to those that need IT to run their business, but aren’t versed in information technology.
Over the course of three decades, I’ve held multiple roles in the IT departments of midsize to large organizations: programmer, business analyst, tester, database administrator, solution architect, data architect, enterprise architect, systems integrator. I also held several IT management positions, leading teams of IT architects in insurance, travel and transportation, telecommunications and banking. As an IT project management professional, I delivered projects of all kinds and overseen the implementation and continuous improvement of project management offices. As a consultant, I help my customers implement governance mechanisms to improve communications, quality or control and I made several organizational assessments of their IT architecture capability.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in management information systems and a research-oriented master’s in business administration. I’ve been a certified project management professional (PMP)© for sixteen years.
When not busy helping customers, I develop and offer seminars on enterprise architecture, service-oriented architecture and soft skills for IT architects. When not busy professionally, I renovate old houses or skip sailboats across oceans.
